Harlem Lofts, Inc. was retained to find a townhouse in Harlem which was conducive to a condominium conversion. Our recommendation was to find a townhouse that was on a neighborhood block with many owner-occupied dwellings. This would make condo ownership more attractive when the properties were marketed for resale.

Using three New York City multiple listing services, Harlem Lofts was able to locate 55 properties to start the search. Our running list of properties which are not listed with the larger brokerages produced an additional 24 properties. After months of negotiating for our client, we secured a building on the 100th block of 131st Street for 70% of the asking price. The search took six months, and the deal was co-brokered with The Corcoran Group.
