Harlem Lofts Construction was established in 1999 by Harlem Lofts, Inc. principal
owner Robb Pair with the specific vision of developing Harlem townhouses into
convertible loft style spaces, adding square footage, light, air and outdoor
living space to our projects. Eleven properties later this original idea expanded
to include excavating Cellars and creating Green Roofs, innovative techniques for
extending living spaces outside.
With over 20 years experience in real estate sales and investment, Robb saw an
obvious business opportunity in 2003 and established Harlem Lofts Brokerage Inc.,
the first real estate agency in Harlem to join The National Association of REALTORS,
The Manhattan Association of REALTORS, The New York State Association of REALTORS,
and The Real Estate Board of New York, organizations that mandate Co-Brokerage
agreements and a strict Code of Ethics.
Harlem Lofts, Inc. quickly gained the support of several international investor
groups that recognized the opportunity to add Harlem properties to their growing real
estate portfolios. Their goal was to have a single company handle the acquisition,
renovation, construction and management of their rental portfolios. In 2004, Harlem
Lofts added Harlem Lofts Property Management Inc. to provide property management,
bookkeeping and maintenance services.
Within the next year, Harlem Lofts, Inc. acquired 50 new units for this division.
To this day, we continue to manage the majority of those units, with the exception of
buildings the sales division sold for investors. Frequently, owners who purchase units
through Harlem Lofts Brokerage Inc recognize the value and convenience of Harlem Lofts
Property Management and opt to maintain those services.
The result of this experience in pioneering Harlem property development is that Harlem Lofts,
Inc. is uniquely positioned to provide property acquisition and construction services for all
sizes of Harlem property investments from the individual home buyer to investor groups of all sizes.
